Groton Animal Shelter

Town:         Mystic
Troop:        63815

What issue did your Take Action project address?
Helping the animals at the Groton Animal Shelter by collecting donations of food and supplies.
Donations were gathered in my neighborhood and at Pet Supplies Plus of Groton, and also at my school. A last fund raiser was held at my neighborhood's yard sale by offering coffee, cookies, and lemonade.

What was your Take Action Project? Who did you involve in your project?
Mr. Lane, school principal, Pet Supplies Plus staff, Mrs. Teskey, Mrs. Siconolfi, my mom, Elizabeth, Ava and my neighborhood.

What were the results? How did it affect the community?
We gathered many donations at every fund raiser. It helped the animals at the shelter. It also helped the shelter keep their animals and prepare them for adoption.

What did you learn from the experience?
Lots of things in the world need help. It's a good feeling to know that you helped make a difference. It's not hard, you just have to set your mind to it.
