Girl Scouts of Connecticut to hold Golf Tournament at Lyman Orchards

July 29, 2009 - Tee off at Girl Scouts of Connecticut's Golf Tournament on Monday, August 31 at Lyman Orchards in Middlefield. Featuring great prizes and delicious food, the tournament will be a day of fun and fundraising to help support Girl Scouts of Connecticut's exceptional programs and services for young girls.

Registration for the event will begin at 10:30 a.m. and the public is encouraged to sign up for a terrific day of golf while supporting a worthwhile cause. Tournament highlights include a silent auction, luncheon, and an awards ceremony & dinner. In addition, each participant will receive one of Lyman Orchards' famous apple pies!

"Considered one of Connecticut's top ten public courses, Lyman Orchards offers a beautiful backdrop and exciting course for this tournament," said Pamela Amodio, Special Events Coordinator for Girl Scouts of Connecticut. "The excellent course conditions and championship designs by Robert Trent Jones and Gary Player are certain to guarantee a great day of golf."

The entry fee is $200 per player and it includes greens fee, range, cart, lunch, snacks on the course, and an awards dinner. Tournament players will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of contests such as Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin and Hole-in-One.

A full flight is expected, so call soon to register. A variety of sponsorship opportunities are also available. For more information, call Pamela Amodio at 860-522-0163 ext. 3226.

Proceeds from Girl Scouts of Connecticut's Golf Tournament will support enrichment, educational, recreational, and personal development programs that help girls in grades    K - 12 bring out the best in themselves and their communities.  The Girl Scout Leadership Experience offers girls the lifetime skills they need to discover their personal best; connect with others to build healthy relationships; and take action in their communities to make the world a better place.
