Girl Scouts of Connecticut to Host 9th Annual Golf Tournament

Golf Outing to take place at Torrington Country Club

Girl Scouts of Connecticut to host The 9th Annual Golf Tournament to take place Monday, August 4 at the Torrington Country Club in Torrington at 10:30 a.m.   


Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. with a best ball format; shotgun tee-off to start at 12:30 p.m. Entry fee is $150 per player; which includes golf cart, greens fees, range, lunch and awards dinner. Tournament players have the opportunity to participate in the hole-in-one contest resulting in the choice of one of three grand prizes, either $10,000, a cruise, or golf vacation.


Guests attending the dinner will have the opportunity to win numerous prizes which include airline tickets, dining certificates, and tickets to theatre productions, museums, The Connecticut Opera, and the Boston Symphony.

 

Recognized as Presenting Sponsor for the golf tournament is Eastern Mountain Sports; with Peoples Bank as the Platinum Sponsor. The tournament’s Lunch Sponsor includes New Milford Septic Services and Sharon Auto Body. Openings are still available for sponsors, individual golfers, sponsored foursomes, and tee and cart sponsors by phoning (860) 482-4495 or (860) 522-0163, ext. 226 to request an application. Individuals may also attend the dinner/reception for a $35 fee.

Net proceeds from the 18 hole event will support Girl Scout leadership development programs that help girls in grades K - 12 bring out the best in themselves and their communities. Through effective Girl Scout programs, girls are encouraged to discover the world around them, connect with the needs of others, and take action to make the world a better place. Trained Girl Scout volunteers and professional staff help girls prepare for the challenges of today and the future by establishing positive values, building leadership skills, and developing self-esteem.
