Girl Scouts of Connecticut CEO Thanks Cookie Program Supporters
July 1, 2014
To the Editor:
On behalf of my 44,000 sister Girl Scouts, I would like to express my deepest thanks and appreciation to those who supported our 2014 Cookie Program. Thanks to you, we have sold more than 2.5 million boxes of cookies! In addition, our girls sold more than 138,000 boxes of cookies for our Gift of Caring program, Cookies for Heroes, which we will send to our service women and men at home and overseas, as well as to local community heroes.
Our Cookie Program teaches girls five important skills that will use in their everyday life: goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics. The Cookie Program truly brings out the best in our girls, as many choose to give back to their local communities.
This year, cookie proceeds will be used to purchase teddy bears for a children’s hospital, to making monthly crafts for hospice residents, and so much more. Your purchase of a box of Girl Scout cookies makes all this possible!
It’s important to thank our 18,000 volunteers for their year-round dedication and commitment to our girls, including during the Cookie Program. We are grateful to each and every one of you who support our girls throughout the year in so many ways.
Thank you again for your generous support of Girl Scouts of Connecticut, as you are helping us build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.
With warm regards,
Girl Scouts of Connecticut, CEO
