Girl Scouts of Connecticut Honors Its Valued Volunteers

April 16, 2014

During Volunteer Appreciation week from April 20-26, Girl Scouts of Connecticut will honor the 18,000 volunteers that are an essential part to Girl Scouting in Connecticut. Throughout the nation, all Girl Scout organizations will be taking a moment to thank the numerous volunteers who give so much of their time and resources to inspire and empower girls every day.

In addition, Leader’s Day is celebrated on April 22, when Girl Scouts and parents recognize the valuable contributions and dedication of Girl Scout Troop and Group Leaders, throughout the state and nationwide.

“Without our 18,000 adult members, Girl Scouting couldn’t happen in Connecticut,” said Mary Barneby, CEO, Girl Scouts of Connecticut. “Words cannot express how valuable our volunteer force is. Their time, dedication, and efforts in ensuring Girl Scout program is delivered across the state is a driving force to everything we do. We are grateful for their hard work, as they help us build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. We are proud to have these volunteers as part of our organization.”
