Approximately 1,400 attend The Big Sing & SWAP
February 20, 2014
Girl Scouts of Connecticut hosted its largest girl event of the year, The Big Sing & SWAP, to a large crowd of 1,400 Girl Scouts and families for an afternoon of sharing personally created pins and items with others and song.
On Saturday, February 15 at Quinnipiac University, there were special performances by Teresa of the Brave New Girls, and her special guest, Astronaut Catherine (Cady) Coleman. In addition, the GSOFCT Girls Chorus made its public debut. The chorus, formed last year, featured 29 Girl Scouts from across the state who come together to perform.
“The Big Sing & SWAP showcases a large part of what Girl Scouting is about – having fun, making new friends, and singing!” said Mary Barneby, CEO, Girl Scouts of Connecticut. “Teresa and Cady are inspiring role models for our girls and we were delighted to have them perform for us. We’re especially appreciative of Quinnipiac University for being a great host and friend to Girl Scouts of Connecticut.”
