Marlborough Girl Scouts Attend 51st Annual West Point Camporee

Marlborough Girl Scouts of Troop 65220 recently attended the 51st Annual West Point Camporee, held at Lake Frederick in New York during the weekend of April 26-28, 2013.
 
Troop 65220 sent 14 girls between the ages of 14-17 to the camporee, accompanied by six adults that included three Girl Scout alumnae for the weekend. Hosted by the Cadet Scoutmasters’ Council, the West Point Camporee brings together approximately 6,000 Boy and Girl Scouts from across the country to participate in hiking and challenging camping competitions, including knot tying, fitness, climbing rope bridges, fire building, and leadership activities.
 
Overall, the troop placed highly in several competitions, including a perfect score in fire building, beating the challenge in 46 seconds.
