GSOFCT CEO Thanks Cookie Program Supporters
May 2, 2013
To the Editor:
On behalf of my 47,300 sister Girl Scouts, I would like to express my deepest thanks and appreciation to those who supported our 2013 Cookie Program. Thanks to you, we have sold nearly 2.7 million boxes of cookies! In addition, our girls sold approximately 130,000 boxes of cookies for our Gift of Caring program, Cookies for Heroes, which we will send to our service women and men throughout the world.
Our Cookie Program teaches girls five important skills that will use in their everyday life: goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics. The Cookie Program truly brings out the best in our girls, as many choose to give back to their local communities.
This year, cookie proceeds will be used to cook meals at a local homeless shelter, support Girl Scouts still suffering from the effects of Superstorm Sandy, to make gift bags and pillows for children at local pediatric wards, and so much more. Your purchase of a box of Girl Scout cookies makes all this possible!
It’s important to thank all of our 19,000 volunteers for their year-round hard work and efforts as well as for their help in ensuring a successful Cookie Program. We are grateful to each and every one of our volunteers who make Girl Scouting possible.
Thank you again for your generous support of Girl Scouts of Connecticut, as you are helping us build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.
With warm regards,
Girl Scouts of Connecticut, CEO
