Never a dull moment.

How can parents keep their girls engaged, challenged, and happy this summer? Girl Scout Summer Camp is the answer!

May 9, 2012

The end of the school year is quickly approaching and parents everywhere are looking for ways to assure they don’t hear the dreaded words, “I’m bored!” this summer from their kids.

For all girls in grades 1-12, summer camp is the answer to the “What should I do?” question. Girl Scouts of Connecticut has 9 day camps across the state and 3 resident camps that offer girls a safe, nurturing environment to explore the wonders of nature, develop self-esteem, gain a sense of independence and community, stem summer learning loss, and create treasured memories that will last a lifetime.

In addition to traditional arts & crafts, swimming, hiking, games, and nature walks, Girl Scout camps offer girls a variety of unique, special interest programs, such as tennis, archery, horseback riding, science experiments, zip lines, and much more.

Girl Scouts of Connecticut’s camps include:

Day Camps
An-Se-Ox, Oxford
Aspetuck, Weston
Carlson, Bristol
Candlewood, New Fairfield
Clatter Valley, New Milford
Katoya, Milford
Laurel, Lebanon
Merrie-Wood, Manchester
Pattagansett, East Lyme

Resident Camps
Candlewood, New Fairfield
Laurel, Lebanon
Timber Trails, Tolland, MA

While each camp offers its own personalized, age-appropriate programs, all of the Girl Scout camps and programs are designed to encourage girls to dream and make friends, while learning the value of goal setting and the thrill of accomplishment.

Spaces are still available so parents are encouraged to sign their girls up today. A complete list of all the camps and their individual programs is located on the Girl Scouts of Connecticut website at For more information, please call 800-922-2770 ext. 3313 or email Financial assistance is available.
