Girl Scouts Of Connecticut Partners With Read To Grow In State-Wide Book Drive

May 25, 2011

Girl Scouts of Connecticut and Read to Grow, Inc. recently partnered to conduct a state-wide effort to collect books for kids in need. More than 10,000 new and gently books were collected by the Girl Scouts and donated to Read to Grow, Inc., an organization that provides books both directly to families across the state and to the programs that serve them.

Girl Scouts of Connecticut understands the importance of establishing an early foundation for success in children and we are thrilled with how Girl Scouts throughout Connecticut responded to this call for help. The girls worked hard, collected a lot of books for a great cause, and in the process, discovered the importance of helping people, the value of reading, and the difference they can make in the lives of others.

Girl Scouts who collected the books brought them to Girl Scouts of Connecticut’s Service Centers across the state. GSOFCT staff members sorted the books and prepared them for Read to Grow.
