NEW DATE 3/5/13 (rescheduled from 2/12/13) 6:30pm-9:30pm Deadline 2/26/13: Out and About prepares volunteers to take girls on field trips beyond their meeting places that are longer than four hours including, but not limited to, trips to the zoo or museums, or simple hikes. It also prepares volunteers to take the girls on overnights inside a building that has an automated hear source, electricity and running water. Topics will include health and safety, progression in the outdoors, simple hiking guidelines, and indoor food preparation.

Out and About training needs to be completed at least two (2) months prior to a trip of four hours or more. This allows volunteers to teach the girls how to prepare for their trip. Please note: This course does not include any outdoor cooking or fireplace cooking techniques. Consider taking Fire, Food and Fun for fire building and simple outdoor cooking. Please Bring: Paper, pen Bring a flashlight if it is held at a program center and will end after dark.
