Deadline Date 3/13/13. Prerequisite -Fire, Food, & Fun. Part One: Planning Session -Wednesday 3/20/13 6:00pm-9:00pm will be held at the Cherry Brook Health Care Center, 102 Dyer Ave, Canton, CT. Part Two: Overnight Session 4/6/13 10:00am to 4/7/13 at 10:00am will be at the Timber Trails Program Center, 12660 East Otis Rd, Tolland Mass. Attendance at both the indicated Planning Session and the associated Weekend is required for certification. Camping Adventures prepares volunteers to take girls overnight camping and cooking in the outdoors. Camping Adventures needs to be completed two (2) months prior to camping in a backyard, platform tent, shelter, cabin, or lean-to, doing simple outdoor cooking (i.e., one-pot meals and Dutch oven cooking, or use of a portable stove), using wood fires, doing outdoor food preparation, outdoor dishwashing. There is a $10 registration fee. Additional costs of food and supplies will be determined at the Planning Session.
