Learn how to make positive choices in the online world! Prior to the event, do some leg work. Cadettes, visit www.powertolearn.com to complete Steps 1 and 3 of the Netiquette badge. Seniors visit www.powertolearn.com to complete one case study from the I?m Internet Smart fun patch. Cadettes and Seniors will use the character profile form (which will be sent to you upon registration) to create a social network profile for your favorite character, and bring this info with you to the event. You?ll complete the Netiquette badge steps and in a ceremony with Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman and State Senator Gayle Slossberg, be presented with either the Cadette badge or for Seniors, cablevision?s internet safety fun patch. The ceremony will be filmed and aired as a portion of a neighborhood intrest story on Cablevision. Due to this topic, sensitive issues may be discussed. Contact the coordinator to volunteer at this event.

Seniors must complete a case study found at www.powertolearn.com , and also complete the character profile (will be sent to you). Girls must bring their Character Profile, a completed sensitive issues permission slip, media release, and those attending alone must bring a completed health history. Wear comfortable clothing, Girl Scout attire is encouraged, as portions of the event will be taped and aired.
