Just reminiscing with my mother about our trips to Camp Nippewalky in (eastern) Conecticut in the late 1950's and early 1960's. Summer camp with flag ceremonies (fun), canoe flippings (terrifying) , and mysteriously peaches at every meal. Our troop also went during the year for badges and camping out; still remember feeling very important as I went off to set out a path for the day, announcing loudly that I was off to lay a pea trail. Many a good laugh over that for all these years.
