My girl scout experience
Posted: Apr 15, 2012
I joined girl scouts during my mini world of
confusion and family turmoil. My father had
recently passed away and I was searching for my
identity. Girl Scouts of America helped me
tremendously! I only learned last year that my
troop leader, Nancy Sheehan, had passed away.
I was heartbroken! Through her, I learned skills
of independence and teamwork. I made friends
and found a place where I felt like I belonged.
I'll always cherish my summer camp experiences
at Timber Trails, which included participating in
trust falls, standing on top of a telephone pole
plunging off into the air, and falling off a horse,
resulting in a concussion. So I realized my talent
didn't lie there. Thanks Mrs. Sheehan for all your
time and dedication you gave to the Girl Scouts!
You will never be forgotten!!
