PAST LEADER & TRAINER Posted: Mar 12, 2012
Today as we celebrate the 100th birthday
of Girl Scouting I am reminded of the many
wonderful experiences I have had in my 82
years of being a Girl Scout. Staring out
as a Brownie and progressing through the
three stages at that time as Girl Scout
and Senior Scout. Four years after being
an associate I became leader of Troop 16 in
Hartford at the Broadview Community Church
where I started my Scout career. I led that senior
troop for 25 years and then became a trainer.
Taking a troop to Europe for 8 weeks was a
experience I will never forget as a dream came
true to visit OUR CHALET in Switzerland.
I am proud to say that both my daughters became
leaders and one of my granddaughters was a
leader and now we are starting over again
with my great granddaughter as a Daisy and
soon to become a Brownie. It has also been my
privilege to visit Juliette Lowe's home in
Atlanta.
