Girl Scouts & Juliette Low at The Cheshire Historical Society
Posted: Nov 1, 2012
On October 27,2012 Our Troop celebrated
Juliette Low's Birthday at the Cheshire
Historical Society. Their Curator Mary
Ellen Kania shared the history of the
formation of the Girl Scouts
and information about the Cheshire unit
which was one of the first established
troops in the United States.
The Girl Scouts in attendance were able to view artifacts and actually
model some of the vintage Girl Scout
fashions. As well Ms.Low's birthday was
celebrated on site using traditional
birthday decorations as well as
Halloween treats-since her birth date
falls on Halloween.
Members of Troop #60684 donated current
GS items to the museum in honor
of Ms.Low & the 100th anniversary of
Scouting for future generations of scouts
to enjoy.
