Silver Award Posted: Sep 25, 2012 Our troop completed our requirements for earning our Silver Award this past year. For our Silver Award, we tutored a group of younger children from our previous elementary school. We focused on reading and writing while providing movement activities/games, a healthy snack and learning through the use of all of our senses. For example, we formed letters in shaving cream using our sense of touch and used our visual system while searching for sight words on a scavenger hunt. We held these learning sessions within our community on Sunday evening and our troop attended meeting to plan and prepare ahead of time. It was challenging at times but also fun!
