World Thinking Day - Mt. Laurel Service Unit
Posted: Feb 25, 2011
Cadette Troop 33056 ran World Thinking Day for the Mt. Laurel Service Unit in Fairfield, CT. The troop invited all other Girl Scout Troops and Juliettes to participate. Each participating troop had a table with items from a country in which there are Girl Scouts or Girl Guides. Part of the display was an American-Girl style doll wearing the Scout uniform of the country. Girls traveled between the different "countries", having their passports stamped and receiving a SWAP, which was pinned to a special ribbon that Troop 33056 created. Approximately 150 girls participated. Funds from the event were used to purchase two goats (to be named Juliette and Daisy) from Heifer International, to match the World Thinking Day theme of ending poverty.
